BEST PLACE TO HEAR LIVE ACOUSTIC

EDITORS’ PICK

BOULEVARD PLACE CAFÉ

www.boulevardplacecafe.com

The best place to hear acoustic can’t typically be a bar, unless everyone is committed to being very quiet while sipping away. Boulevard Place Café hosts shows booked by Segment of Society and Indianapolis Songwriters Café in an ideal listening room, with only the clink of forks to distract.

23 JUN 08This steam engine is moving! June ISC show plays to a full house!

Start coming early for a seat, thanks to the wonderful folks of Indianapolis we're gaining momentum & have an outstanding audience for local & touring writers. With 60+ in attendance for the June ISC show featuring Jason Wilber (The John Prine Band), Stasia Demos (Middletown), Cara Jean Wahlers & Marc Jeffares we're starting to get close to what I'd call a house crowd. If we keep on down this path we'll be a real oasis for songwriters passing through Indy as well as locals who need to be heard. If you've been attending these shows give yourself a pat on the back!

The Market runs every Saturday, May 3-October 25 from 8:00 until noon. So far all of the dates are open except for May 3 and 24, July 5, August 2, September 6 and October 11. Let me me know if you're interested and the dates you're available.

Thanks,

Some things we've learned over the years:Make sure you have a tip jar/hat/open guitar case- people are very generous. If you have CDs, put 'um out. There is a big crowd there at 8:00, if you can get there that early it is worth it. The Broad Ripple Gazette generally runs a photograph of you playing, make sure you grab a copy of the paper the next week.
If you can send me a brief bio or a few sentences about your BRFM experiences or why you're looking forward to playing the Market it really helps me write about it for the Gazette. The location behind Broad Ripple High School is not the most bucolic, but the shoppers really love it and there is plenty of parking.

7/02 - This is booked full and has been for a while.
